Andro Dadiani

A Georgian multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between word and image. Their artistic process is an act of reflection — on identity, migration, and resilience — where the personal meets the collective and turns into a public voice.

Since 2017, the artist has been working under a pseudonym and mask — the only way to think and exist freely in a country where difference is perceived as a threat. This experience of repression lends their work a universal form, along with sharp emotional and critical power.

Andro Dadiani is the author of the poetry collection Purgatorio and the Anthology of Georgian Queer Poetry, as well as the plays Happiness NH₂ and Passport, staged in Tbilisi and Berlin. They have held two solo exhibitions and often respond to social issues through performance. Their practice weaves together poetry, performance, staged photography, and installation; they also sing and design their own stage costumes.

The artist currently lives in Belgium, in conditions of political persecution and exile.
