Prisoner (performance Berlin, potsdamer platz)

The performance took place in Germany, in Berlin, at Potsdamer Platz.
An artist living in political exile presents, through this performance, how people in his country have become imprisoned by their own social statuses — how the system has bound them to their positions and erased the human within them.
The concept of the performance is based on the words of Georgian writer Niko Lortkipanidze from his short story “Georgia for Sale.”

“Georgia is being sold piece by piece, handful by handful — to whoever wants and however much they desire — in tiny fragments, on credit, for free, for cash, temporarily and forever.
It is being sold everywhere: in the streets and at home, in the theater and in court, in schools, by radiant women’s choirs, by open-minded young men, by playful children.
It is being sold morning and night, in heat and in cold, in fair weather and in storm, with mother and father, with child and root, with brother and sister, with wife and kin and lover…”
